Interim Procurement Manager to deliver Excellence in APAC

A global medical device manufacturer was looking to bring on additional bandwidth to its Chinese business unit as it transferred contracts from one entity to another.

The manufacturer came to Talmix as they were finding it difficult to find talent with both the experience required, who was based in Shanghai and who was fluent in both Mandarin and English.

They identified that somebody with key experience in Procurement in the biomedical or pharmaceutical industry would enable faster results, as they needed somebody to deliver excellence across all front-end procurement industries, including benchmarking/negotiating service levels and pricing.

The language requirements were also critical, as the client needed the talent to regularly communicate with internal stakeholders and suppliers throughout Asia, as well as draft contacts and agreements with minimal supervision and maximum efficiency.

Talmix was able to put forward a candidate with 22 years of global Procurement experience, who was not only based in Shanghai, but was also part of the Core Expert team of CFLP (China Federation of Logistic and Procurement). He was able to demonstrate an ability to work in a fast pace environment and deliver value-added results, and an ability to juggle competing priorities in a professional and diplomatic manner.

As Procurement manager for a multinational oil and gas company, the Talent put forward by Talmix had established and led new teams across in China and India, delivering supports to cross-boarder BU, realizing the FTE relocations, and supporting global strategy on business transformation. This proved of vital importance to the client, who needed somebody reliable to oversee a regional team development road map that would reliably fulfil yearly targets.
