Our early findings...

Remote Work on the Rise (Read the Full Report)

2020’s sharp shift to remote working practices was seen by many businesses as a necessary, but temporary fix to mitigate disruption in the face of a pandemic.

Fast forward to 2023, and many businesses have seen the positive impact of remote working (increased productivity, improved employee wellness, reduced business costs) to such an extent that the concept has moved from being a ‘trend’, to becoming an integral part of any future workforce strategies.

The same can be said on the talent side too – the Talmix Talent network has grown 20% in the last 24 months, as more and more workers are taking that step into independence, as part of an ever-increasing desire to improve work/life balance, have more control over their career paths, and find work without geographical restraints.

As such, we’ve seen a huge increase in remote job applications across our talent network over the last 24 months, coinciding with a 72% increase in remote hiring amongst clients on the Talmix Marketplace between 2020 and 2023.

From the data, it is clear that businesses are adjusting their hiring strategies, and factoring in remote working as part of job specs - flexible or ‘hybrid’ working is definitely here to stay. Naturally, some industries are more resistant to change than others – for instance, the technology, marketing and finance sectors are much more remote-friendly than the retail and manufacturing industries. Yet overall, the remote shift has completely reshaped the international talent market and opened up access to a much more diversified global talent pool for businesses to unlock.

Big increase in the use of Talent Marketplaces (Read the Full Report)

Given the increased market demand for engaging more flexible workforces, businesses around the world are exploring tech-driven solutions to address these challenges and compete in the future of work. As such, the use of digital and on-demand staffing technologies has grown exponentially over the last two years.

Talent Marketplaces like Talmix are the technologies making it possible for companies to shape their workforce to respond to changing market needs - allowing businesses to tap into in-demand skills they don’t have internally, expand their capabilities, and improve the organization’s capacity to complete critical projects.

At Talmix, our number of global clients has almost doubled over the last 24 months. In the APAC region, Talmix has seen a 200% increase in usage of its marketplace, as more companies look to the platform to tap into in-demand skills quickly and efficiently.

It’s not just businesses turning to talent marketplaces. Our talent network has grown too over the last 12 months, as more workers forge their own career paths - our average number of applications per project has increased, as our 60,000+ global talent network continues to expand.

Closing the Gender Gap (Read the Full Report)

Today, more and more businesses are turning their attention towards talent diversity to drive innovation, improve performance and develop competitive advantages. As expectations within the workplace, and amongst clients and stakeholders continue to grow, gender equality in the workplace has become both a social and business obligation.

Women are making up more of the Talmix talent network than ever before, and we are seeing important increases in networks across Asia and the Middle East. Concurrently, female applications on the marketplace are on the rise – increasing by a staggering 38% in Europe alone over the last twelve months. The percentage of female hires has also risen, and the number of female top earners (+ £200k) on the Talmix platform has increased 40% in the last two years.

The evolution of the workforce is still, of course, a work in progress – but we are seeing positive signs within the data to indicate a narrowing of the gender gap, particularly across the healthcare, tech and finance industries - and growth for female business talent across registrations, applications and project successes on the Talmix platform.
