Objectives and Key Deliverables

Background: Supply Risk Management Strategy - US based team.

We are one of the world's leading innovators in materials science, with a track record of life-changing inventions, specialising in glass science, ceramics science, and optical physics, along with deep manufacturing and engineering capabilities.

We have kicked off an initiative to develop and execute an overall Supply Risk Management strategy. The strategy includes processes, tools and governance model. GSM currently has many supply risk management tools and processes in place but they are not used consistently and we do not have a comprehensive risk management program in place. Supply risk management activities are included as part of many services (Category Management, Contract Manufacturing, Logistics, Compliance, Quality, etc.) that GSM provides.

Objective: External Best Practices / Benchmarking Review

We will be conducting internal Voice of Customer (VOC) with key stakeholders in March / April 2018 to evaluate current risk management practices and identify gaps. At the conclusion of the VOC data gathering, we would like to conduct a best practices / benchmarking review with an external partner to use as input to the Supply Risk Management Strategy.

Once the overall Supply Risk Management Strategy is developed, the company project team and possibly an external partner will work to address any gaps and execute the strategy. The goal is to establish consistent and comprehensive risk management practices, including processes, tools and governance model.

Work Scope:
" In-Scope:
̶ Process improvements
̶ Tool improvements
̶ Organization recommendation
" Out-of-Scope:
̶ Risk factors not owned by GSM (e.g. internal manufacturing process issues)
̶ Risk mitigation execution (e.g. conducting supplier audits)

Assumptions:
o Best practices / benchmarking review can be completed in a short period of time in a workshop-type setting.
o Company project team resources and SME's will be available for best practices / benchmarking review.
o The company will provide clear guidance on what risk factors are in or out of scope.

Approach:
o Company to conduct internal VOC with key stakeholders in March / April 2018 and compile results
o Company to provide VOC results to external partner prior to best practices / benchmarking review
o Conduct best practices / benchmarking review with an external partner in April 2018 and incorporate results into Supply Risk Management Strategy

Deliverable:
o Final work product will be a report from the external partner that includes the following:
o Supply risk management best practices
o High-level review and assessment of Companies current supply risk management practices and identification of any gaps
o Recommendation on areas of improvement to include in Supply Risk Management Strategy
o External partner may also recommend services they can provide to support strategy execution.

Schedule:
Complete best practices / benchmarking review and deliver final report in April 2018. Specific timing TBD.

Complete Supply Risk Management Strategy by April 30, 2018

Measures of Acceptance/Performance:
