Background & Objectives
Senior Manager Global Devices Six month interim role onsite in Netherlands for world leading telecoms company. Commercial & Strategy Reports ToDirector Product DevelopmentPosition SummaryResources and delivery of device products, manage devices community and manage devices KPIs. To deepen current business partnerships and form new ones, and to provide input into and eventually lead the Devices strategy.Responsibilities and Essential DutiesDevices Product & Program Management: Identify, initiate and prioritize device projects that can deliver commercial benefits to multiple OpCo’s; Select and standardize device portfolios; Manage Global Devices Roadmap for data-only devices, phones and SIM; Program-manage multiple parallel projects with several stakeholders to deliver on time and on quality the devices portfolio.Partnerships and Vendor Management: Manage relationships and Global projects with current vendors; Lead process to qualify new device vendor(s), manage stakeholders’ buy-in; Lead process to introduce Global Framework Agreements to improve commercial conditions vs. current OpCo agreements.Devices Community Management: Run Global Devices Forum and grow and improve Devices stakeholder community; Search, identify and select best OpCo device practices; Track commercial impact of devices best practices; Share device best practices across stakeholder community.Governance, Reporting, Performance Management: Track Global Devices KPIs, identify ways to improve device KPIs, recommend to OpCo’s; Provide executive reporting and briefings on the assigned products/projects/vendors; Ensure that product teams address all terminals issues.
Role Outputs: Global Devices Roadmap, Strategy Development and Lifecycle Management two times per year; Global tenders for Global devices two times per year; Global Devices Forum two times per year; Define and maintain Devices Customization Documentation for handsets, data-only and SIM;GFA with device, SIM vendors. GFA with competitive / research agency; Quarterly Customer Insights Review and Competitive Analysis; Monthly performance management reporting.Core and desired experience At least 10 years mobile devices / product management experience including min. 7 years of mobile telephony / operator environment; Demonstrated ability to manage device product methodologies and processes, project planning and to understand, track and improve a portfolio of devices; Demonstrated operational business background and experience in managing complex programs with internal & external stakeholders, proven track-record in program delivery; International experience and/or background in a complex multi business environment essential;Education & languages Master’s degree or MBA Fluent in English, both written and spoken Knowledge of Russian and/or Italian is preferredCore Competencies & Skills Strong coordination skills; Strong communication and negotiation skills; Ability to lead and interact with a truly international team of representatives: multi-cultural awareness; Ability to accomplish goals in traditional and matrix organizations preferable: experience in leading large and diverse cross-functional teams and/or projects; Commercially sound and fluent, analytical ability with experience in building budgets, hitting challenging targets, identifying gaps and corrective action where required; Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a rapidly changing industry; Excellent skills to prepare and present plans and strategies to a senior audience; Honest, with an open attitude.
