Background & Objectives
The client has a large number of sites across Germany and Europe. This is a highly distributed service business, with a large number of small sites.
The objective of the project is to design and implement a "site-focussed" operational excellence programme to reduce costs and improve customer service across the client's sites and countries.
You will be working on-site from the Stuttgart office, with a lot of travel to the client's sites (approximately 80% travel with approximately 50% of the travel in Germany).
You will be tasked with using levers of operational excellence, such as
a) lean process redesign,
b) implementing shared manning models,
c) selective automation (if and when it makes sense), and
d) service level redefinition
to design and implement the programme.
The client is customer-facing and looking for a consultant with experience designing and running site-improvement projects in industries such as retail, travel, hospitality, catering facilities management, telecom infrastructure serving.
The ideal candidate is a senior lean transformation specialist with a significant track record across consulting and line management on driving multi-site operational excellence transformations, in highly distributed service businesses (many sites, blue-collar workers, service operations etc).
Ideally, you have experience working with a world-class lean/six sigma service business company (e.g. GE, on the service side not in manufacturing).
German is essential. Ideally fluency in other European languages as well.
