Objectives and Key Deliverables

Objectives and Key Deliverables
We are working with a PE-owned talent pipeline management and executive search firm with a presence in Europe and APAC

The company is looking to open an office in USA to further expand its international footprint. This would also leverage off existing relationships with large US multinationals. The company would like further information on the market opportunity, competitive intensity and customer need before entering, and require a 25-30 slide presentation which covers the following-

Objectives
1) To estimate the size, growth rate, market drivers and shape of the US talent research market.
2) To understand where talent research is currently undertaken in the US market (e.g. in executive search firms, RPOs or in pure-play talent research firms).
3) To understand better customer need in the US, and how this may differ to their current market.

1) Market growth and trends
What is the size of the US talent research (mapping & pipelining) market?
What is the growth rate of the US talent research market?
What are the drivers of growth?
What is the adoption of talent mapping in the US?
What is the average spend per customer in the US
Are there any key differences between the US and current market (local market work already done)?

2) Competition
Who are key US competitors, and how do they segment? For example;
• Pipelining specialists
• Search Firms
• Other executive search firms with US presence
• RPOs
What is the mix between the different types of talent research players?
Are there any indications of who may be entering this market?
Are there any historical examples of overseas competitors successfully entering the US market. Can anything be learnt from this? (e.g. location)
Are there any pricing benchmarks in the US for talent research?
3) Customer
What are US customer needs for talent insight services? Who is using it and why?

Conclusion
Draw initial conclusions (high level 1-2 slides), ideal location, nature and positioning of offering, pricing, target customers, research activities

Research
In addition to interviews with management, desktop research, review of relevant industry reports we would also like:
1. Telephone interview with 15 target customers on an anonymous basis (from list of names provided by client)
2. 5 telephone interviews with other market experts and participants (including Executive Search firms and RPOs)
3. Mystery shopping of up to 5 US pureplay talent research competitors

Please note duration of this project will be 4-6 weeks part-time.
