Objectives and Key Deliverables

Our client, one of the world's most well-known brands, requires a "Head of Strategy."Please apply if you have the experience at BCG, BAIN or McKinsey, or refer a friend who does to earn £1000 referral fee upon successful placement. Head of StrategyManage both the Strategy & Corporate Development functions to help guide and support the strategic direction of for the company. This involves providing a strategic framework and support to the wider business to facilitate the development of company. In addition to providing strategic guidance the role will be responsible for all major corporate & business development activity at the initial stages, ranging from new product development initiatives through to developing and implementing acquisition and JV opportunities in support of the wider plan. Responsibilities:Business & Corporate Development:Test and review all new major new concept ideas (sourced directly or via VML) for strategic alignment and potential business case developmentIn consultation with the Directors make decisions as to which ideas and concepts will be developed into a wider businessLead and manage the development of any new ideas/concept business case to be submitted to the Directors or Board with support from key areas of the businessProvide financial and analytical rigor to assess the commercial opportunity for Vhols along with the potential risks and its alignment to the company's Strategic DirectorLead the Business Case through the necessary approval processes along with the development of any necessary handover plans before its managed by the Project OfficeCorporate Development:Provide input into company's Acquisition and JV strategyIdentification of potential acquisition and JV targets to assist in company's growth plansLead and provide strategic and commercial reviews of acquisition targets or approaches to ensure alignment to company's Strategy and Acquisition CriteriaMake decisions with the Directors as to which targets will be formally approached and due-diligence carried outCarry out all relevant valuation analysis to inform negotiations, the Directors and the BoardPrepare all necessary Board Papers and Investment Cases to support and Acquisition or JV opportunity submitted to the Board for approval                                                                                    Strategic Frameworks & Support:        Use desktop and market research to identify key consumer, industry and competitive trends for use by the wider businessAct as strategic support to the business providing frameworks, insight and critical challenge to key areas as part of the Strategic Planning Review process (SPR)                                                  Group Strategy Support:                                                                          Work with the wider company's Travel Group as the company's input into any Group wide Strategic reviews or analysis.Manage:Manage the Strategy & Development team and the project team members where applicable.Manage all aspects of the Business case development process, drawing upon resources across the business (virtual teams)Ensure effective handover from Strategy & Development function to the Project Office for approved concepts or acquisitions   Communication:    Ensure that all areas of the business are involved and “buy-in”.    Ensure alignment with the company strategy.    Regular communications to the business.    Ensure that the projects are included in the programme planning timescales Desired Skills and Experience:Strong financial analysis, quantitative and analytical knowledgeFamiliarity with key company valuation approaches and general comfort in a transaction environment including working with legal and financial advisersGeneral knowledge of the travel and leisure industryAbility to work autonomously with complete self-directionSounds knowledge of the economics of the travel industry and ability to prepare a full business plan from first principlesAbility to offer strategic insight into industry, consumer and competitor trendsComfortable in presenting to Senior Management with strong presentation skills (written and verbal)Basic salary of £80,000 + bonus + benefitsPlease apply if you have experience at BAIN, McKinsey or BCG
