Objectives and Key Deliverables

Our company is devoted to developing emotional intelligence through the help of culture. We offer a variety of programmes and services concerned with how to live wisely and well.

We are seeking a Head of Marketing to:
- Own and manage the overall marketing plan for The School of Life
- Work closely with the Creative Director and internal teams (Retail/ Programme/Business) to produce an overall marketing plan, and manage delivery against the plan.
- Lead regular meetings with internal teams (Retail, Programme and Business) to decide sales and communication priorities and targets
- Review all current marketing activity, to decide which activities are key drivers of website traffic and sales, and prioritise activities accordingly

WEBSITE (Retail, Programme, Business)
- Works with internal teams (Retail/ Programme/Business) to optimise promotional messaging and content for the website for:
o Retail
o Programme
o Business
- Co-ordinates internal requests (from Retail/ Programme/Business teams) for website changes and upgrades, and is the sole point contact for website agency (7 Dots)
- Overall responsibility for ensuring accuracy and quality of all website content (ie. no typos, inaccuracies or broken links)
ECOMMERCE (Retail, Programme):
- Identifies and manages all the necessary activities and tasks to optimise traffic, conversion, ROI, return rate, abandon rate, etc.
- Sets and reports on KPIs e.g. overall turnover, increased website traffic, conversion rates, average basket spend and customer retention
- Ensures the right products are placed in the optimal position on the home page and key landing pages to optimise sales
- Amends home page and key landing pages during key trading periods
- Regularly updates website with new programme and retail products
- Regularly analyses customer and sales data to make recommendations eg. for future customer segmentation, future messages, promotional offers etc. to drive sales
DRIVERS OF WEBSITE TRAFFIC AND SALES
- Manages, tracks, reports and analyses website analytics and sales to understand the key drivers of website traffic and eCommerce sales
- Implements changes to drive traffic and eCommerce sales, based on learning and best practice
i) Email campaigns
- Manages email marketing campaigns (together with Marketing & Social Media Coordinator
- Recommends best practice and changes to constantly improve the email response rate and ROI for email campaigns (eg. customer segmentation, timing of emails, content/ messages, design tweaks etc.)
- Has overall responsibility for accuracy and quality of all email campaigns (ie. no typos, inaccuracies or broken links)
ii) Social media
- Manages, tracks, reports and analyses the website traffic and sales driven by social media to help determine best practice for future social media activity
- Overall responsibility for social media* (*managed day to day by the Marketing & Social Media Co-ordinator)
iii) Other online traffic drivers
- Manages, tracks, reports and analyses website analytics (incl. PPC initiatives, SEO, off- and on-line partnerships and PR)
iv) Offline PR and partnerships
- Develops PR and media partnerships (for Retail, Programme and Business)
- Manages and co-ordinates production of press releases (with Retail, Programme and Business teams)
- Liaises with journalists
- Manages and co-ordinates production of other offline assets (with Retail, Programme and Business teams) eg. posters, brochures, leaflets
- Manages, tracks, reports and analyses the website traffic and sales driven by PR and offline partnerships to help determine best practice for future off-line activity
OTHER RESPONSBILITIES
- Owns and manages marketing budget
- Works within the brand and editorial guidelines
