Background & Objectives

The UK Telecomms market is undergoing significant change ; the merger of BT/EE has created a fixed mobile converged golaith . The failure of the O2/3 merger has created an M&A fixed / mobile buzz in the UK with various scenarios from Voda/ Liberty Global , or Sky / TalkTalk with O2 or 3 discussed in the press .

In parallel to this , the market dominance of BT /EE has yet to be seen as the company starts its integration process and it contunues to be faced with regulatory , political and customer pressure on the performance of Openreach and their reluctance to deploy FTTP adopting for the sweating of the copper assets through G.Fast
This changing landscape has created uncertainity but also opportunity .

The objectives of this work are :
1. Assess what the BT/EE strategic options will be in the next 12 to 36 months ? and what would be the strategy of choice
What will be their killer "go to market " propositions and how will they intend to win against either a fragmented market or newly formed fixed / mobile converged competition .

The scope of this should cover Consumer and businesss customer segments and should look to outline Customer segmentation or types to help understand strategic thought for different Customer types and values

2. What could the market look like as a compettive backdrop to this ?
Virgin / Voda scenarios - What would they have do to compete against BT /EE and win ?
TalkTalk / O2 or 3 as above
Sky / 02 or 3 as above
Please consider FTTP as part of the competitive stratgey for the fixed line/BB operators

3. Are there any business model or technical advances or changes that would be needed to faciliate that winning take to market strategy .

Consultant requirements

Looking for experienced consultant in Telecomms ; both fixed and mobile preferably but not essential to have experience of the UK market .
Good all round experience of other Quad play markets across the world specifically interested in FTTP .
Creative , be able to analyse and innovate around what strategies could be .
