JOB TITLE : Strategic Projects Manager - Change Programme Specialist SST ALIGNMENT : Practice NQF LEVEL : 6 BUSINESS UNIT : Strategy & PMO   JOB PURPOSE:The Strategic Projects Manager - Change Programme Specialist role reports directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and is a key element of the Project Management Office’s (PMO) Long-Term Turnaround Strategy (LTTS) implementation monitoring role.  While the CEO and Group EXCO have the accountability for the implementation, this role leads the PMO’s LTTS implementation monitoring role as prescribed by the LTTS Board Committee.  This includes establishing/maintaining/fine tuning effective reporting tools and interrogating individual project implementation progress against plan/schedule to ensure the Board and key stakeholders (such as the Shareholder, National Treasury and Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises) have full oversight of implementation progress and assurance the clients implementation risk is effectively managed.     While the role is primarily specialised, the role must also work closely on a peer basis with other Strategic Projects Managers in the PMO.  This may require their engagement in the LTTS implementation and may also require this role to manage other strategic projects, depending on workload.    

Key deliverables

Formal Qualifications:  A tertiary qualification directed towards commerce (preferable) at NQF level 6.  A post graduate degree within another discipline at NQF level 7 is preferable.   Years Experience:  At least 5-7 years major project or senior experience in a PMO, not necessarily in commercial aviation.  At least 2 years in a key PMO role in a successful major change programme, in a listed enterprise preferably a major brand.
