Objectives and Key Deliverables
We want a patent expert to review the products and processes of a company to see if there is anything which can be patented, in order that the company can benefit from corporation tax benefits associated with patented products.
We have just acquired a manufacturing company. It has its own product range of precision manual cutters for the digital print industry. It is a small company (£2.5m sales) but world market leader in its product category with 80% of sales exported. The company has a history of meticulous design and thoughtfully designed and engineered products to meet its customers needs. There is plenty of good design there but we don't know if any of it can be patented. The company is based in Corby which is where all design and manufacturing takes place.
We want a short summary of possible patentable aspects within the company's existing product and manufacturing portfolio. This should include guidance about what timing and cost would be involved in completing the patent process for each item, together with a realistic assessment of how likely each application is to succeed.
