Objectives and Key Deliverables
We are looking for a consultant with strategic events expertise (commercial diligence, launching live events, M&A, NPD and business development) to help a leading specialist media company evaluate the benefits of significantly increasing footprint and scale in live events.
The ideal candidate has a consultancy background with strong consumer live events and publishing sector expertise across diverse businesses, launches and NPD.
There are several opportunities in train and we are after some external expertise to quantify in some detail the tangible benefits of extending our participation in live events. This would include a view on top and bottom line return.
Our hypothesis is that events can accelerate our existing strategy to increase ARPU and drive customer engagement for our large specialist customer base. We are looking for help to develop a detailed view on what events can deliver for the existing business, across 3-5 specialist consumer markets – through audience cross-over, marketing reach, content development. This view needs to contain solid, albeit high level, financial projections.
Ideas under consideration include: creating new products; bundling; selling sponsorship across multi-platforms; premium product and memberships; creating new content for commercial or engagement purposes and highly targeted niche events. We want help to quantifying the specific cross-over, the importance of events in driving engagement and in reaching influencers and the size of the opportunity we have. We are looking for solid insight/ data points of businesses where adding live events to the customer mix has driven a significant uptick in existing revenues / ebitda.
We have a fairly developed view on the benefits / synergies we could bring to external events, so although we may want a viewpoint on our existing work, the meat of the brief is as above.
Under NDA, we will make available a considerable body of work done to date, details on our targets and facilitate access to stakeholders and business owners internally.
