Objectives and Key Deliverables

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are a private equity backed manufacturer who is launching a dramatic and wide-ranging transformation of the finance function. We need an interim Global Controller as soon as possible. One who is also willing to go permanent would be preferential. The Global Controller is responsible for ensuring consistency and accuracy of financial reporting across the business, delivering transaction processing activities in effective & efficient manner, providing financial information relating to business performance to support the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Drive transformational change in the Controllership group in the short to medium term
• To ensure consistency and accuracy of financial reporting across the business, deliver transaction processing activities in effective & efficient manner, provide financial information relating to business performance to support the business
• Provide accurate and timely financial insight into and support for the business that creates value to all stakeholders.
• Manage controllership functions that record transactions and maintain books and records to produce financial results at the operating level
• Management of consolidation and reporting function that produces consolidated and business units results for the business and the Board
• Reporting and discussion of financial statements at legal entity, consolidated entity levels in accordance with specifications for that reporting at that level
• Deliver consolidated and legal entity results on monthly basis to support business unit reporting prepared by business partners
• Oversight of sponsor required financial reporting
• Provide stewardship over financial assets
• Maintaining appropriate financial reporting controls to deliver complete, timely and accurate financial results
• Billing and customer invoicing
• Compliance with reporting and filing obligations required by regulators, government agencies or other stakeholders (e.g. lenders)
• Analyse and provide guidance and communicate the budget and forecast at a consolidated level to the CFO, CEO and Board
• Ensuring the effectiveness of the Global Commercial Operations team, optimizing between credit protection for the business and achievement of sales targets
• Sponsorship of finance transformation projects related to Controllership

QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION
• Possession of a Professional Accounting designation required (CA, CGA)
• Undergraduate degree in related discipline
- RELATED EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an operational environment including a proven track record of managing in an internal audit function
• Experience in manufacturing considered an asset
