Objectives and Key Deliverables

For our client, an African investment company, we are tasked to conduct an in-depth market research on the Nigerian cosmetics industry with a focus on fragrances.

The client is considering an investment opportunity in a beauty and personal care player operating in Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire. The company manufactures perfumes, deodorants, body splashes, jellies, lotions, powders and nail polish. Perfumes and body spray are the main business of the company. To that end, the client needs to deepen its understanding of the beauty product and personal care sector, specifically in Nigeria, and better ascertain the company’s positioning in the market.

The scope of the due diligence exercise is to research the overall beauty and personal care market with respect to historical and future market size and growth – both retail sales and/or volumes by key sub-category. The product scope include hair care, skin care, bath & shower, color cosmetics, baby care, deodorants and fragrances. The Client also wants to understand the key players and their respective market share per sub-category.

We are thus looking for a key expert with in-depth insights into the markets addressed above in Nigeria. As a key expert, you support the project team in weekly team calls, you point the team to relevant sources of knowledge, networks and contacts, and provide feedback on reviewed outputs.
