Background & Objectives
Our client has a video player that
has been developed over the last 18 months which delivers in visions click and
purchase and core analytics for clients to assess R.O.I. This is likely to be
superceded by a strategic partnership with a couple of companies who are 12
months further down the development track and with VC backing to improve their
product. This will allow us to significantly improve the end to end service we
can offer to our growing client list through what in effect will be a white
label agreement. Functionality will be hugely improved and ability to analyse
down to a granular level will allow us to quickly generate Case studies that
help sales staff.
Whilst our client will have the strategy,
production and soon to be comprehensive delivery there is a big challenge to
overcome in order to “take the pain away” for clients. Our client believe the
final part of the jig saw is to be able to offer an holistic media placement
service that encompasses Video Content as well as Video Advertising. They are
looking to offer their clients the ability to get Video Content driving return
on investment across Paid, Owned and Earned Media. It is believed that the key
areas for investigation are as follows:
Refine and unite partner
services into a clear product that represents our client, and understand the
phase 1 targets and get to market quickly.
Create a specialist Video
Affiliate Network and understand commercial model
Define a clear commercial model
for Video SEO services and YT Channel Management
Tie up with a PR specialist who
can in effect seed content (i.e. free placement) across a wide range of sectors
and understand commercial model for this.
What has been done so far?
Early stages of a strategic
partnership with Functionality partner and Distribution partner. Hope to sign a
deal by early Jan 14
Initial investigation has found
that existing affiliate networks do not focus on content affiliates and of
those content affiliates on their programmes not many carry video. This is
surely changing rapidly but it is not a priority for existing networks and
since the barrier to entry is so low, there is no reason why we shouldn’t start
to build our own network.
We have a basic understanding
of how media agencies are offering the service.
We have a meeting booked in early
Jan to understand how a strategic partnership in this area might work.
Our client would be looking for someone to
drive this project across all areas with the ambition of our client being
famous for having this solution. We will have sold the end to end service into
two Tier 1 clients and two Tier 2 clients by the close of 2014. We imagine that
since 1,3 and 4 work on the basis of partnerships that point 2 will represent
the biggest amount of time (also due to the fact that we don’t think anything
like it exists currently).The clients are looking for a consultant who has a background in digital media agency and/or have a background in online content distribution.The clients is looking to pay £7500 to £11500 for this remote project. This is estimated to take approximately a month.
