Objectives and Key Deliverables

We are a leading Fintech, changing the world through a money transfer service. Due to significant growth, we’re looking for a Global Head of Financial Crime Operations to join our growing team in Tallinn or Budapest. In this unique and newly created role, you will drive a global vision and strategy optimising our Financial crime operations. This covers everything from transaction monitoring, reporting, fraud fighting, managing losses and compliance risk analysis. This will help us build a more secure, customer friendly and low priced service globally.

Your mission:

Lead the design of the vision and strategy for efficient, easy and fast processes and controls with clear customer focus, while providing continuous risk management and controls.

Build and develop a people strategy that allows execution upon the vision - cross functions and locations.

Enhance and monitor the functions’ KPI’s.

Establish a knowledge pathway for teams to upskill in product changes and new customer groups.

Develop and build upon already established relationships with partners and regulators for the purpose of more efficient and secure compliance controls.

Support the global compliance risk framework development and implementation, together with compliance and product teams.

Maintain the teams’ budgets and high-level reporting.

A bit about you:

You have lead teams in a highly regulated company.
You have great communication skills.
You will have an in depth understanding of AML/CTF legislation and regulations and their commercial and customer impact.
You’re data-driven, with a head for numbers, you know how to prioritise the impact on our customers through KPIs (we want to see examples of how you’ve moved metrics before).
You’re customer-focused at heart. Our customers always come first, so you’ll be passionate about making a real difference to their lives.
You can continuously reshape organisational best practices to provide the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
You naturally see ways to optimise and work efficiently.
You can define the problem, set SLAs accountability, utilise tools and processes.
You can set hiring strategies and further build, grow and hire functions and leads.
You are able to balance a regional vs global strategy.
You're able to travel for work to meet our teams in the US, UK, Hungary and Singapore as well as meet various partners and organisations when needed.
Some extra skills that would be awesome:

It would be great if you have built operational teams that have enabled a business to grow rapidly.
Knowledge of AML/CTF processes in a multi-jurisdictional operating environment.
You have worked in a highly regulated industry.
You have worked with product teams to prioritize cross-functional projects, that drive efficiency and scaling of manual work.
