Objectives and Key Deliverables

Grow Movement is an award winning charity that connects experienced business professionals with micro-entrepreneurs in least developed African countries to offer coaching and consulting through digital channels such as phone, internet and email. Grow Movement is applying for funding for a massive expansion of its operations. The funder is looking for a study to confirm the logic and feasibility of the expansion strategy.

Specifically, we need to look at the market size for entrepreneurs that are suitable as clients for the program.
o Numbers of micro-entrepreneurs in Least Developed countries of Africa.
o Numbers of SMEs in the same countries
o Businesses with Potential for export (including delivering low cost services virtually)
We also need an analysis of potential partners to help us deliver our program on the ground in our operating countries, specifically to
o Recruit entrepreneurs to join the program as clients
o Facilitate establishing relationships between consultant and client.
Partners may be private sector, publicly funded or NGOs whose purpose is the alleviation of poverty through enterprise or a commercial interest in SME business growth and a presence in the operating countries.

This is primarily a desk based study and we do not see any need for travel to Africa.

The consultant needs to be able to be highly analytical and evidence driven.
An understanding of the context of working in Sub-Saharan Africa would be a distinct benefit.
