Objectives and Key Deliverables
We are a Fortune 100 Oil & Gas company seeking an expert in commodity price exposure management to provide a study on best practices (Industry and Academic) by ultimately March 12th, 2018.
1. Within the Oil & Gas industry, provide an overview of common and best practices in oil and gas commodity price exposure management, answering questions such as:
a. What philosophies are out there and considered best practice (and why)? What are the underlying beliefs for such philosophy?
b. What are key determinants of an exposure management philosophy? What is the underlying target variable (e.g. earnings, cash flows, stock value)?
c. What type of exposures across the value chain should be managed, and which not?
d. How should exposures be managed across different time horizons?
e. Who should own and manage the exposures?
f. What are (unintended) consequences of adopting the exposure management philosophy and how should those that managed?
2. Provide the same as under 1, but from an overall economic/academic perspective.
3. Provide case studies with best practice examples.
Exposure management should be considered in a wide context (hedging, trading for value, accounting practices, for different time horizons, etc.)
Detailed requirements will be discussed prior to commencement of the work.
• Proven deep expertise with commodity price exposure management;
• Proven experience with O&G industry exposure management;
• Availability to deliver the work by ultimately March 12th, 2018;
• Availability to engage with the project team on exact requirements, progress and deliverables; open and frequent communication when needed.
