Objectives and Key Deliverables
The client is close to finishing the development of IT system for automotive repair shops. The system is currently being tested at a customer site in China and will be finalized and launched in the second half of 2016.
The client has engaged a global consultancy to audit and quality assure the development project.
A number of important decisions still have to be made and many activities need to be completed. Both on the commercial, organizational and technical side.
The client is looking for an experienced project manager who can i) project manage the finishing of the development project coordinating internal resources as well as external resources in Europe and Asia Pacific and ii) plan and project manage the launch of the system globally but with an emphasis on China together with the Chinese organization
Own and Continuously revise project plan and business case/cost budget.
Identification and preparation of key remaining commercial, technical and other decisions/issues. Both in project organization, with Chinese organization, with steering group/top management and board of directors.
Project management/finishing of development project.
Project management of commercial launch globally including customer contacts/sales and support commercial launch together with Chinese organization in China. Deliverables are continuous and work need to be done face to face with internal team, external parties and with customers. Will involve travel to Europe, China and other areas. Decisions will need to be documented professionally and supported with analytical rigor.
Very experienced project/program manager.
Very experienced in IT/IS development.
Commercially (sales, marketing, pricing etc) oriented and experienced. Project will include customer contact.
Able and willing to roll-up his/her sleeves and get going (client not looking for a person to sit behind a desk).
Able to focus both on strategic and operational issues simultaneously.
Extensive travel required.
Experience of the automotive industry is not required. The rest of the team has this.
