We are a global healthcare company who are looking for an interim German country lead for a unique opportunity to be involved in a collaborative initiative which aims to provide clearer and more proactive insight into how anti-cancer treatments are used in a real-world setting across key European markets.
With more than 1.7 million deaths and three million new cases each year, cancer is a leading cause of death and morbidity in Europe, second only to cardiovascular disease. It is our belief that availability and transparency of information on treatments lead to improved patient care.
The initiative is therefore intended to provide more timely, consistent, and comprehensive data resources that could be used to provide further insight for healthcare systems to make better informed decisions on patient care in the future.
This is a rare opportunity for a confident and entrepreneurial leader to set-up, develop and roll-out this ground-breaking initiative in Germany. We look for an experienced manager and exceptional communicator, who relishes building a growing network of clinical partners and key industry opinion leaders.
The Country Lead reports into the Regional Operations Leader and works closely with central functional leads and subject matter experts. He/she will build-up and manage a growing local team.
Team members will include experts responsible for hospital engagement, relationship management, technical deployment, service management, communications and operations. Additionally, the country lead works closely with our central functions and technical team to assure successful roll-out of the oncology data network in Germany
•Define and drive implementation of the country plan
•Recruit talent and build a high performing local team
•Provide leadership to and assure career development of single team members
•Support assessment of key 3rd party providers (IT and other) who build the local technical infrastructure of the oncology data network (in cooperation with the central partnership manager, technical and legal experts)
•Drive contract negotiation with 3rd parties (in cooperation with the central partnership manager, technical and legal experts)
Business Development and Hospital Engagement
•Define the national engagement plan
•Build a strong pipeline of hospital partners according to plan
•Support the hospital engagement process and help to convert pipeline centres to oncology data network members
•Lead contract negotiation with hospital stakeholders and sign-up to the oncology data network
•Ensure and drive the ongoing management and community of the Oncology Data Network
Technical Deployment and Service Management
•Review and sign-off hospital deployment plans and resource demands
•Oversee technical deployment activities
•Act as point of escalation for deployment and ongoing service concerns and facilitate solutions in cooperation with our central Subject Matter Experts
External communications / engagement
•Act as national ambassador of the project to key opinion leaders in the industry and help build national awareness of the product and brand
•Build and lead a national advisory group with key industry and academic experts
•Support information exchange and alignment with our pharmaceutical collaboration partners regarding the development and deployment of the oncology data network
•Plan and deliver against country budget
•Assure sound financial and operational processes and governance in cooperation with the local operations manager and central operations functions (like Finance, HR, Procurement)
The programme was officially launched two weeks ago and as such we are looking to bring someone on-board as soon as possible (everything is in place to start in the next couple of weeks). While bringing in an interim consultant is our priority, there is the potential for this role to become permanent (this will by no means impact the chances of those not interested in a permanent position).

Must have extensive contacts in the hospital network in Germany (Oncologists, Chief Medical Officers, Chief Pharmacists, CEO)
Must have credibility within a hospital/healthcare environment.
Must be able to sell the vision of the project and win the trust of the hospital network. We are not looking for someone who is a product sales person.
Must have worked in the healthcare sector - Hospital/Healthcare Consulting/Healthcare Service Providers.
Knowledge of Oncology would be a big bonus
