Background & Objectives

Project Background:
A subsidiary of a multi-national gas utility company manages a nation-wide grid of gas lines. Inspection of these gas networks currently requires workers to “walk the line” to identify patterns of leakage, assess risk, and report damage. This is a highly time, labor, and cost intensive process. Our client's team leadership would like to understand how geospatial satellite imagery and pattern recognition software may be used to identify gas leaks, and potentially provide other benefits.

We are seeking participants to contribute to a lively exchange with other experts over a four day period. Provisional dates are Feb 1 -4 2016 (TBC). You must have an outstanding career track record in one or more of the following fields:
• Geospatial technologists (familiar with satellite imaging, drone technology imaging, and / or airplane based imaging)
• Gas line engineers and grid operators
• Data analysis experts in related fields

Applicants who are short-listed for participating in this exciting 'Think-Tank' will be asked to submit a written response to the question: "Why do you think you’re uniquely positioned to provide valuable feedback to this client? Please be specific with regards to your background, perspective, and experience."

Key deliverables

Participants contribute approx 15 (minimum) - 45 minutes per day at their convenience, over the course of the 4-day engagement. Provisional dates are Jan 25 - 28 2016. They will answer a set of questions each day as it pertains to the client's objectives.

Experts will be remunerated a total of $500 for their time. Other invaluable participation benefits include learning from peers about trends that can help you improve your own work and enhancing your reputation as a leading thinker on topics of passion and expertise
