Objectives and Key Deliverables
The business had been in operation for 5.5 years with no HR function in place and approx 70 permanent employees. An HR Director was appointed in February 2016 to work alongside a newly appointed MD.
The HR Director resigned in September 2016 and agreed to remain until 27 January to effect a handover. The HRD proposed replacing with an HR manager and recruit for an HR generalist to support. The HR manager was due to start today and decided last week to accept another role.
The business is going through an organisational restructure. Attrition is high and the HRD has been building the HR function from scratch (HR software now in place), managing day to day and currently supporting the business with a redundancy exercise. The redundancies have arisen from a need to replace with a higher level of skills (not cost reduction). We need to replace with a permanent HR function but in the interim we are looking at the option to put in place a consultant who can manage the continuity of day to day, support the senior management team through restructuring and help with finding a permanent solution.
The business specialises in building mobile applications for leading companies within finance and banking. The environment is pacy and smart. The employees are equally smart and a pleasure to work with. They're a good team.
The ideal consultant will have worked in technology/creative agencies/ professional consultancy services.
