Objectives and Key Deliverables
One of the businesses in the group recruits into the qualified social work market. The market is almost completely under vendor management, where the jobs are sent into the business by email so very little sales activity is required. The challenge is that the business is inundated with emails from the various vendor managers and it's hard for the recruitment consultants to sort the 'wheat from the chaff'. The consultants therefore spend a huge amount of their time sifting through useless emails. To solve this problem we built a technology solution that distills all the emails into a web portal that the consultants can look at and see exactly what jobs are available where, the tool matches their available candidates to jobs and heavily reduces a consultants unproductive workload.
The solution has been in for 6 months plus now and to date we have seen no improvement in productivity at all. The consultants are being presented with exactly what they need to be more successful and yet they are being just as successful as they were before. Therefore we have concluded we need to understand what the consultants are spending their time doing, hence the thinking that a time and motion study may be the way forward.
The consultant needs to analyse / understand how recruitment consultants spend their time and develop a pragmatic action plan with the Operations Director to increase productivity / efficiency.
The consultant needs to be based on-site (primarily London).
