Objectives and Key Deliverables

Drive and transition an operating model change for the international wholesale voice business of a major regional telco player as they seek to outsource part of their business to a third party carrier.

Working directly with the Head of Carrier Division and the current Head of the current Wholesale Voice Division to:
1. Lead the transition of an established in-house wholesale operations to an outsourced model
2. Stabilise operations with the outsourced partner - both commercially and technically

Key activities (to be done along with an in-house working team):
1. Work with the in-house team and selected vendor (vendor already selected) to finalize term sheet (SLAs, bilateral working mechanism, audit process etc) and support signing of a legal contract
2. Route testing and migration of traffic to selected vendor
3. Structure internal processes to run operations in an outsourced set up and support in-house team with allocation of roles and responsibilities to manage outsourced partner
4. Stabilise operations from a commercial and technical point of view and handover to in-house team

10+ years overall experience with a telecom operator in the carrier services division (VP / Director level)
Should have led wholesale voice business for a telecom operator (ex-head of wholesale voice)
Experience in setting up and/or running a wholesale voice outsourcing operations
Experience in any of the follow telcos would be preferable: AT&T, Vodafone Hutchinson (Australia), MTN, British Telecom (BT), Spark, Vodacom, TCL

Skill set / expertise sought
o Practitioner expertise in managing wholesale voice carrier relationships (e.g. commercial deal structuring, bi-lateral working mechanisms)
o Working experience of managing an outsourced wholesale partner - key SLAs and contractual terms to be agreed, requirements to ensure traffic quality etc
o Working experience of managing internal accounting for wholesale voice (accounting for in-payments, out-payments, transit business etc)
