Objectives and Key Deliverables
The role of the ICT Infrastructure and Security Architect is to strategically develop, design and document the ICT network and Infrastructure components adopted in any environment, including information systems and networked software architectures that support core organizational functions, and assure their high availability. This individual will act as the subject matter expert, providing trusted advice to our clients for all network and ICT Infrastructure systems and software plans, as well as evaluate and select all technologies required to complete those plans.
Develop detailed design documents for all components, systems, controls and equipment as part of a client’ ICT Infrastructure, network and security architecture, covering Connectivity (LAN and WAN), Networking rooms (such as Meeting rooms, IDF and MDF Rooms, data centers and server rooms, interfacing with telco providers), Power and infrastructure redundancy, systems resilience, Disaster Recovery and related Business Continuity alignment.
Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in ICT Infrastructure, network and security architecture, including analysis of total cost of ownership, cost reduction opportunities, ROI, and deployment models.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of in ICT Infrastructure, network and security systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining ICT Infrastructure, network and security architecture.
Ensure that proposed and existing ICT Infrastructure, network and security architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
Review new and existing ICT Infrastructure, network and security projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans.
Develop, document, and communicate a policy for standardizing ICT Infrastructure, network and security architectures as necessary.
