Objectives and Key Deliverables

A business development assistant/corporate planner to play a key role alongside them developing the growth plan and assessing and executing operational improvements. The successful candidate will have some media experience and knowledge; will have strong numerical and analytical skills; and is used to working at pace and on projects which have demanding deadlines. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities of the Role:1. Establish and manage the provision to the business of mission critical KPIs and leading indicators to inform operational priorities alongside finance team.2. Deliver timely, accurate and relevant industry/market intelligence and insight to inform and shape the strategy, key operational decisions and identify high potential business development opportunities. 3. Support the Business Development Director to manage and lead business development and operational improvement projects, co-ordinating resource from within the business in the UK and across other company territories. 4. Analyse and assess business development initiatives for improved effectiveness and/or efficiency. 5. Where required support acquisitions and the due diligence process working closely with the finance team.6. Track competitor performance and highlight relevant developments of interest to the company.7. Research new market spaces – business models, market dynamics and size, consumer offer and highlight potential for the company.8. Benchmark company's our businesses for revenue growth and cost efficiencies9. Strategic assessment of business development opportunitiesReporting LineThe role will report to the CEO. Key Attributes and characteristics :Must have… media experience, demonstrable project management skills and analytical, research skills.   • Operational Excellence - comfortable with big picture combined with an operational level of detail.  • Equipped with a broad range of analysis tools and frameworks, possibly with MBA from leading school.  • Able to make the complex simple and to provide informed and independent appraisal of new initiatives• Understanding of research and screening processes of M&A and growth opportunities - Is comfortable interpreting financial results and able to communicate issues, risks, opportunities, trends and outlook• Ability to work effectively with others, influence direction and make things happen.• Able to work in fast paced environment where expectations are high.  • Able to juggle multiple projects, priorities and get things delivered accurately to deadlines.  • Attention to detail paramount; numerate and analytical; inquisitive, tenacious and engaging; robust and resilient.
