Objectives and Key Deliverables

Seeking a VP of HR for a small holding company based in the US / Canada which is growing its team. This position is long-term interim with permanent potential, and fractional in hours (approx 1 - 5 hours per week).

Candidate must have knowledge of the gig economy, understands hiring freelancers and "task slicers" (on-demand, freelance, low cost labor offshore people who do one task and only one task as part of an overall process).

Past tenure as VP HR is less important than intelligence and mental flexibility and presence of new-economy way of thinking. Also ability to assess and understand people and personalities is important.

1) setting recruiting strategy for various roles;
2) overseeing the recruiters (who post jobs, do resume sourcing, schedule and record interviews, etc) and make sure that the recruiters are operating cost-effectively;
3) once interviews are completed, review all the candidates to come up with recommendation on hiring.

Position will require approximately 1-5 hours per week, and is 100% remote. Day rate budget is approximate and hourly rate should be proposed with application.

Candidate must be intelligent, adaptable, and able to operate in a bootstrap environment where shortcuts and cost saving mentality is the norm. Must be process-oriented, able to build off of the current hiring process, and understand the task slicing mentality as it relates to process flowcharts.

The person should be familiar with freelancer marketplaces, be mentally nimble and flexible, and very familiar with entrepreneurial environments. No "big-company" mentality. No "traditional recruiting" mentality. Should be the type of person who regularly breaks the rules in finding smarter/cheaper ways to do things.
