Objectives and Key Deliverables

We are a private equity backed manufacturer who is launching a dramatic and wide-ranging transformation of the finance function. We need an interim FP&A Lead as soon as possible. One who is also willing to go permanent would be preferential. The FP&A Lead has accountability for accuracy, quality, timeliness and efficiency of business unit and legal entity accounting and financial reporting, quality of data used in management reporting , controls and overall Controllership strategic direction.

• Establish a financial perspective of the business that will drive a deeper understanding of the key elements that are relevant to improving the value of the business
• Improve the financial acumen of the business with a focus on the basics of value creation via the P&L, B/S and CF (consistent across businesses)
• Establish, maintain and enhance a management reporting framework that has common definitions and a consistent approach to evaluating the performance of the consolidated business that can be driven down to the business segments and accountabilities across the business.
• Include a common set of financial metrics with standard definitions including a mix of leading and lagging indicators that are aligned with growth objectives
• Cascade tier 1 and tier 2 metrics to the Business Units and their leadership teams
• Ensure appropriateness for the Board, E-team and Key Business Leaders
• Maintain and enhance a Budgeting/Forecasting platform/process that is effective and efficient for the business to work within
• Lead the Forecasting and Budgeting cycles for all elements of P&L, B/S and cash flow, orders and backlog
• Establish, maintain and enhance a multi-year rolling business plan aligned to strategic direction and aligned to the business units
• Integration with Corporate Controllership and Treasury to ensure business changes are understood and properly/efficiently supported with sound financial processes
• Support Controllership in understanding the results from the perspective of the Business Support function (broader to include changes to org, performance of business)
• Management Reporting as relevant to the Business Support function,
• Sponsorship of finance transformation projects related to Business Support/FP&A

• Possession of a Professional Accounting designation required (CPA, CA, CGA)
• Undergraduate degree in related discipline
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an operational environment including a proven track record of managing in an internal audit function
• Experience in manufacturing considered an asset
