Objectives and Key Deliverables
We are a fast growing SaaS technology company, based in Yorkshire.
We are the market leading software for monitoring child protection and welfare issues. Working alongside a school’s existing safeguarding processes, we have an intuitive system to help with the management and recording of child protection, behavioural issues, bullying, special educational needs, domestic issues and much much more. Using our software, schools can ensure that students are safe and fully supported, whilst school staff can focus on teaching and providing support, instead of administration. The company has extraordinary customer satisfaction, and as a result has grown at 40-50% compound over the last few years, and now has approximately 10,000 customers in the UK.
The board and investors have ambitious plans to continue this growth over the coming years. Looking forward to 2023, it is likely that our customers will include schools in all parts of the UK and significant numbers in several major overseas countries. We are likely to have expanded the scope of our offering to schools and will be regarded as even more ‘mission critical’ than we are today, and we may well be installed in a number of other care settings with a different attitude to technology than schools. We are likely to have significant partnerships with other companies, whether for go-to-market or product integration purposes. The technical team is likely to have expanded from 10-15 today to 20-40 in total, across development, operations, architecture, QA and tech support.
Our CTO, has played a key role in helping the business get to its current market position and has performed strongly during this first phase of our growth. He comes from a software development background and this is his first technical leadership position.
To help him with his continuing development, we are looking for an experienced CTO mentor with appropriate experience of similar growth companies to act as a sounding board. The focus will be largely on leadership, management and organisational development, rather than technical development.
As with any mentor role, the nature of the interaction will evolve to suit the personal styles of the two participants. However, it is expected that regular checkpoint meetings will take place around every couple of months, and the mentor will also be available for ad-hoc discussions with Mike. Having invested time to understand our technical set-up, the board may also periodically want to ask the appointed mentor to informally review certain aspects of our operations and practices.
