Objectives and Key Deliverables

Our client is looking for Business Analysts in the
implementation of strategies and integrated solutions to address client needs.
The position involves analysis, design, and consulting support, as well as
developing an understanding of their clients's strategic direction, issues and
project goals. The successful candidate must be able to bridge the gap between
user-functionality and system developers, and assist in documenting,
evaluating, and translating business architectures and needs into IT

An understanding of consulting methodologies
within the financial services industry (strategy work, business case
development, process mapping, lifecycle of project implementation, requirements
gathering, competitive assessment, etc.) is an important factor for success in
this role.

They are seeking candidates who have an
understanding of financial services and/or consulting methodologies within the
financial services industry (strategy work, business case development, process
mapping, lifecycle of project implementation, requirements gathering,
competitive assessment, etc.) In addition, s/he should have experience with one
or more of the following: Product Control, Securities Lending, Transaction
Processing, Data Management, and/or process improvement.


Role responsibilities will vary from project to
project.  Progressive responsibility, autonomy and leadership are expected
by level.  General responsibilities will include typical consulting
activities such as:

Delivery/Client Engagement

Work closely within the team to
assist in implementation of strategies and integrated solutions to best service
our clients’ needs

Preparing, facilitating, documenting and
participating in client meetings/workshops

Conducting structured data gathering, research and

Developing and evaluating procedures, controls,
user requirements and functional specifications to identify gaps between
current state and future state

Creating business requirements documents (BRD’s)
into Use Cases/Functional Specifications for customization

Requirements gathering, functional requirements,
user stories and documenting business/data/application/technology
architectures, requirements, and business rules

Business process models/design, logical data
models, standards and guidance

Documenting and explaining problems and works with
others to resolve software defects while ensuring technical compatibility and
end user satisfaction

Analyzing, developing and proposing enhancements to
current business processes, reports, and applications in order to optimize system

Conducting customer interviews and producing
meeting summaries

Participating in development of new business
opportunities: conduct market/client research and industry analysis

Liaising with development team and providing
clarifications on customization requirements

Doubling up as QA when needed

Producing high-quality verbal and written
consulting deliverables (including proposals, customer presentations,
consulting reports, etc.) to effectively communicate project findings

Generating re-usable intellectual capital in the
form of consulting methodology and templates, blueprints, and business cases

Basic scripting; and project plans


Bachelor's degree is required. Ability to produce clear,
concise, relevant and accurate documentation based on captured
requirements and information gathered from stakeholders/subject matter
Experience documenting
technology requirements, requirement analysis tools/methodologies (e.g., RUP,
Strong presentation skills,
extensive experience writing successful project proposals, experience
planning and execution related projects, and demonstrated project management
skills and experience
Knowledge of process reengineering
methodologies and process flowcharting
Excellent time management and
organizational skills; the ability to manage conflicting priorities and multi-task
effectively; and communicate current status and tasks to management
Ability to quickly learn new
subjects and absorb new information and methodologies in a rapidly
changing regulatory environment
Strong problem solving
skills; ability to determine proper course or methodology without
direction or supervision
