Objectives and Key Deliverables

We are a Fortune 500 company seeking expert support from a senior level, seasoned professional. This person must be a strong expert in Power markets (specifically US and North West Europe), across all parts of the value chain.

He/she will report into the XXX (Business Opportunity Manager (BOM) of the project) and his/her primary duty will be to provide expert knowledge, support and advice on Power markets to the BOM of the project to ensure he can make the best decisions throughout the project.


Context:
 Our company developed a strong ambition to develop a material, profitable business in Power, at a global scale
 We have been active in parts of the Power markets for years, developing significant positions in specific parts of the value chain, for certain geographies, and more recently started several other initiatives (including acquisitions) to develop a global Power business, across multiple parts of the value chain and geographies
 Today there is a need to coordinate those activities under a cohesive strategy which will allow to reach our global long-term ambitions for Power


Project Deliverables:
 Supports BOM throughout the project by bringing expert knowledge on Power markets in US, UK, NL and North West Europe (target markets)
 For target markets:
o Provide expert support to help describing the current value chains
o Provide expert support to help building long-term scenarios (2025 / 2035)
o Supports the description of potential landscape of regulations, competition and market structure of each value pool
o Help to outline Customer segmentation and customer needs evolution across sales channels
o Help to understand critical capabilities/sources of differentiation/technology/control points
o Distinguish between what is known today and what is unknown/speculation and likely pace of discovery (adoption curves etc.)
o Helps to articulate key signals and signposts
 Helps to define options to compete for value, and develop a road map to materiality (including financials, business model, implementation plan and crisp storyline for key internal and external stakeholders)


Key Power SME’s accountabilities for the Project:
 Provide Power markets expert knowledge to support decision-making of the BOM
 Ensure exceptional quality of the deliverables of the project, through close collaboration with the BOM
 Ensure delivery of unbiased and accurate diagnosis, using own experiences / referential
 Supports the daily execution of the project, conducts interviews with senior executives as required
 Supports regular engagements with executive level stakeholders, incorporating steer and driving alignment
 Can own and deliver one of the project’s workstreams


Skillset / Experience Requirements:
 Exceptionally strong experience in the different parts of the end-to-end value chain of the power markets, with specific, comprehensive knowledge of the US, UK, NL and North West Europe markets
 Ability to act as a neutral party and demonstrated track-record of creating alignment between organizations with conflicting priorities, in a changing environment
 Demonstrates courage and resilience to challenge status quo or biases
 Identify biases and brings external views

 Ability to work and travel in the US and Europe and virtually (resources spread over US and Europe)
 Attend F2F meetings with key stakeholders
 Available for 3-4 month engagement
 Must be independent - if responding as a firm, provide profile of dedicated individual resource
 Ensure full confidentiality of the project, during and after execution
