Objectives and Key Deliverables

We are a private equity backed machine manufacturing business near Toronto undertaking a global transformation to Industry 4.0 and require are seeking a new Global Controller.

The Global Controller is responsible for ensuring consistency and accuracy of financial reporting across the business, delivering transaction processing activities in effective & efficient manner, providing financial information relating to business performance to support the business.

• Drive transformational change in the Controllership group in the short to medium term
• To ensure consistency and accuracy of financial reporting across the business, deliver transaction processing activities in effective & efficient manner, provide financial information relating to business performance to support the business
• Provide accurate and timely financial insight into and support for the business that creates value to all stakeholders.
• Manage controllership functions that record transactions and maintain books and records to produce financial results at the operating level
• Management of consolidation and reporting function that produces consolidated and business units results for the business and the Board
• Reporting and discussion of financial statements at legal entity, consolidated entity levels in accordance with specifications for that reporting at that level
• Deliver consolidated and legal entity results on monthly basis to support business unit reporting prepared by business partners
• Oversight of sponsor required financial reporting
• Provide stewardship over financial assets
• Maintaining appropriate financial reporting controls to deliver complete, timely and accurate financial results
• Billing and customer invoicing
• Compliance with reporting and filing obligations required by regulators, government agencies or other stakeholders (e.g. lenders)
• Analyse and provide guidance and communicate the budget and forecast at a consolidated level to the CFO, CEO and Board
• Ensuring the effectiveness of the Global Commercial Operations team, optimizing between credit protection for the business and achievement of sales targets
• Sponsorship of finance transformation projects related to Controllership

• Undergraduate degree in related discipline
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an operational environment including a proven track record of managing in an internal audit function
• Experience in manufacturing considered an asset

Our ideal candidate would be someone who has previously been a senior manager in the big 4 with transformation and manufacturing experience who is 2-3 years away from being CFO level.
